I get to be in the presence of some of the most amazing teenage girls on a daily basis. Girls who dedicate themselves to everything they are involved in from academics to sports to music to theater and more. Girls who care about others and who conduct themselves with grace and compassion. I learn so much from them as I get to watch them live their lives and interact with each other.
This is for all you girls about twenty-five
In little apartments just trying to get by
Living on, on dreams and Spaghetti-Os
Wondering where your life is gonna go
I have amazing friends who are women who are all at different aspects of their lives. Finishing school, finding jobs, dating boys, and making tons of decisions as they become amazing women. Women who help me laugh and find the best in life.
This is for all you girls about forty-two
Tossing pennies into the fountain of youth
Every laugh, laugh line on your face
Made you who you are today
These women are my heroes. They are the women who's examples are what I try to live my life by. The women I want to be like. Some are the ones who I walk next to and watch the steps they take. Some are women who are now gone, but who's impressions are left on my heart in a way that has helped me be the women that I am today.
Yeah we're all the same inside
From one to ninety-nine
Today was my girls day. I shared pizza with girls at school. And a night out with the girlfriends. Time to catch up on each other's lives. Time to laugh (and snort). Time to send text messages and enjoy a great Indian dinner. It was nice to enjoy the company of the amazing women that I call my friends. I truly am blessed.
