This picture was taken at my graduation in May 1995.
I entered those doors for the last time over ten years ago, looking forward at the future that held so much promise. I had so many dreams that I couldn't wait to be fulfilled; attending college, serving a mission, getting married, having kids.
Last week I reentered the building with a new job before me. The walls were different, the faces behind the desks belonged to new individuals, the students that once attended classes are long gone and new ones have come to receive an education.
The opportunity to work here at my alma mater is new and exciting and offers many benefits. The staff is enjoyable to work with, my desk is larger and brighter, I have a nice faculty lunch room to take breaks in, and during lunch I get to skip to the front of the line. Some things remain the same as they did ten years ago, and I feel like I am going back in time as I relive schedule changes, counselor assignments, visiting the principal, room assignments, etc
So far, the future hasn't held all of the things I thought it would and I may be at a different stage of my life than I thought I would, but over all I am glad to be back!
