I tried hard to get a picture of my cast, but it ended up not working and being extremely painful. You can kind of see my puffy fingers.
For those of you that didn't know, I had surgery yesterday on my left arm for carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel. I am in a full arm cast splint and on loratab (good stuff). I am typing this using one hand ... this experience has made some simple things seem so important. Things I will no longer take for granted:
Doing my hair.
Opening up anything with a twist lid, from soda to jam to pain pills.
Tying shut bread.
Cutting your food so you can eat it.
Tearing open a sauce packet.
Putting up a doggy gate.
Putting stuff in a shopping bag.
Dressing yourself.
